"Newfoundland has long been governed by ever-shifting ocean currents. Here, all manner of living must reckon with the weather's unpredictable nature." - Megan Gail Coles
The Maritime History Archive collects and preserves documents relating to the history of maritime activities in Newfoundland and Labrador and throughout the North Atlantic world. In collaboration with ISER Books, they’ve created a beautiful 12-month calendar, comprised of archival images from the Archive at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
From berry picking in October to the August regatta, these historical photographs were carefully curated by archivists. Proceeds from the sale of calendars support the Maritime History Archive.
Introduced by Megan Gail Coles, author, playwright, and a native of the Great Northern Peninsula.
