The Rideau Hall Foundation is an independent and non-political charitable organization established to mobilize ideas, people, and resources across the country to tap into our national spirit and help realize our shared aspirations. The RHF works closely with the Office of the Governor General and our many partners to connect, honour, and inspire Canadians.

The vision for the Rideau Hall Foundation is vast. It was founded out of the belief that given the opportunity – a question of resources but also simply connections – Canadians can realize breakthroughs in learning, leadership, giving, innovation and more. “More” because RHF was built in a spirit of constant innovation and a desire to continually do better. It’s about ideas and people – both of which resist distillation, categorization and boundaries. The leaders and many supporters of the Rideau Hall Foundation are here to make a real difference in Canada and around the world. In a symbol, we’re here to do.

The Rideau Hall Foundation is proud to serve as the new managing partner of the Arctic Inspiration Prize. The administrative office and staff of the AIP are housed within the Rideau Hall Foundation office in Ottawa.

As an independent, non-political charity, the Foundation works closely with the Governor General and many external partners to support initiatives that build our identity, build capacity and promote the advancement of a caring nation.

It reflects the Governor General’s interest in helping individuals and organizations to achieve their aspirations for Canada, a country with extraordinary potential.

It was influenced by a desire to foster Canadian values and identity by utilizing the unique leadership role which Governors General can play in helping marshal the talent, energy, and resources of the country. And it was seen as a central ingredient in the evolution and modernization of the Office of the Governor General by helping that office pursue its vital mandate to connect, honour, and inspire Canadians.
