Founded in 1983, the Donald J. Savoie Institute is positioning itself in 2025 as an organization whose mission is to contribute to the growth of knowledge on regional development, particularly in the Atlantic region, on regional public policy in Canada, and on the economic, social, and political issues of Atlantic Canada and l’Acadie. This mission is accomplished through a new operating model: funding fundamental research and activities through competitions and disseminating their results.

 The strategic goals of the Donald J. Savoie Institute are:

 • Increase the pool of researchers in fields related to its mission;

• Increase knowledge through research in fields related to its mission;

• Disseminate and disseminate new knowledge resulting from research.
