Webinar: SSHRC Insight Grants

Thehe online application form for the Insight Grants (IG) October 2024 competition is now available.  The application deadline is October 1, 2024 (8 p.m. eastern). For further details, you may visit our website: Insight Grants (sshrc-crsh.gc.ca).

SSHRC is pleased to announce that the Tri-Agency Interdisciplinary Peer Review (TAIPR) Committee has moved beyond its pilot phase and will continue as a regular part of Insight Grants. More details, including on eligibility and how to apply, can be found on the TAIPR landing page.

On January 16, 2024, the Government of Canada published its Policy on Sensitive Technology Research and Affiliations of Concern (STRAC), which applies to this funding opportunity. Grant applications that involve conducting research and related activities that aim to advance a sensitive technology research area will not be funded if any of the researchers involved in activities supported by the grant are affiliated with, or in receipt of funding or in-kind support from, a university, research institute or laboratory connected to military, national defence or state security entities that could pose a risk to Canada's national security. In the application form, the applicant must indicate whether research activities funded by this grant will advance any of the areas in the Sensitive Technology Research Areas (STRAs) List. SSHRC will organize two webinars for applicants and research administrators to provide information concerning the upcoming IG October 2024 competition via WebEx, including a question-and-answer session. Advance registration is not required. Detailed information for the webinars is below:
