Description

The Community Hubs Programming Fund is designed to encourage Memorial University faculty, staff and students to develop original programming to be delivered at one or more of the Community Hubs locations throughout the province. The Community Hubs are community-based facilities located in towns throughout the province that have partnered with Memorial University to foster a space for connecting with the university - this could mean providing a space for students (of all ages!) to gather and learn together, or a space for the community to collaborate on key issues and connect with Memorial resources, research and learning. The Community Hubs Programming Fund is intended to spark innovative ideas for programming that could help strengthen that partnership and provide even more ways for Memorial to contribute to communities. This is not a research fund. It is open to faculty, staff and students interested in developing and delivering workshops or short courses through the network if community hubs. The hubs patrons are interested in a wide range of programs from practical courses around cybersecurity and computer literacy to personal enrichment workshops and course to workshops focused on health and healthy aging.

A total of $50,000 has been allotted for this fiscal year (2024/25), with up to $10,000 available per initiative. Programming can be delivered in person, remotely, or through a hybrid model. The Hubs and their patrons are interested in everything from health promotion to art classes to cyber security to journaling for mental health and everything else in between!

This funding opportunity will remain open until all funds are allocated.
