This unique program aims to bridge the gap between academic research and research commercialization, empowering students to translate their science and engineering research into commercially viable outcomes. Read how past fellows are translating their research into real-world impact in The Gazette.
The research mobilization fellowship program is designed to:
Equip students with interdisciplinary skills in technology innovation and entrepreneurship.
Foster an entrepreneurial mindset and essential professional competencies.
Prepare participants for successful careers in academia, industry, government, or as scientist/engineer-entrepreneurs.
Participants will benefit from:
Workshops on translational R&D using the “From Lab Bench to Store Shelves” model and methodology.
A course in entrepreneurship, innovation and professional skills.
One-on-one coaching with mentors from the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Real-world experience workshops to align research projects with market needs.
Program Duration: October 10th, 2025 – May 31st, 2026. Students must have availability on Fridays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to participate in in-person sessions (online option available for Grenfell and Labrador campus students).
These fellowships are made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism, Department of Immigration, Skills and Labour, Labour Market Integration for Newcomers (Project), Government of Newfoundland & Labrador.
